GAMEDAY PREVIEW: #25 Lady Indians look to rebound against TCC

MARIANNA, Fla. – After starting Panhandle play at 1-2, the #25 Lady Indians will have their sights set on finishing the first round of conference play with a .500 record when they take on Tallahassee Community College (4-12; 0-3 PC) this Saturday at the Milton H. Johnson Center. The women's game will begin Chipola's Homecoming evening at 5:30 followed by the men's game at 7:30.

Chipola (17-4; 1-2 PC) fell on the road at Gulf Coast, 83-55, last Saturday. Tahnyjia Purifoy backed up a 20 point performance against Pensacola with a 32-point effort against the Lady Commodores.

TCC will wrap up the first round of conference action looking for their first Panhandle win in nearly three years. The Eagles lost on Wednesday night to Gulf Coast, 89-57, in Tallahassee. Freshman guard, Aiyana Sam, scored 21 points against the Lady Commodores in the loss. The Houston, Texas native leads TCC in scoring at 14.6 points per game.

Games Notes

  • Tahnyjia Purifoy is third in the country in points scored with 399. Princess Anderson, from Pratt Community College, leads the country with 461 points.
  • The last time TCC defeated Chipola was on January 25, 2020. The Eagles defeated the Lady Indians in Marianna, 68-62.
