TALLHASSEE, Fla. – For the second time this season, sophomore guard/forward Jasmine Jones has been named the FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week.

Jones led the #20 Lady Indians to a 3-1 record on the road last week by averaging 23.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 blocks. The Carrollton, Georgia native shot 57.4 percent (35-of-61) from the floor including 20-of-37 (54.1 percent) from beyond the arc in the four games

In the final two games of the week, Jones picked up her first and second double-double games of her career. Jones tallied 24 points and hauled in 10 boards on November 24 against South Georgia. The next day, she scored 30 against Andrew College while collecting 11 rebounds.

Jones has scored double digits in every game this season and her 22.0 ppg is fourth in NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball.

This makes the second time in three weeks that Jones was named the FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week. She also received the award following the first week of the season on November 14.

Jones and the #20 Lady Indians will travel this weekend to Fort Myers for the Florida SouthWestern Classic. Chipola will take on the host team Friday night at 6 PM CT. Chipola will then wrap up their eight-game road trip with Miami Dade College at 11 AM CT.
