After dropping three of their last four, including two Panhandle Conference games, the Lady Indians (16-3; 1-2), will head to Panama City to face the Lady Commodores, looking to get back in the win column.

After starting the season 15-0, the Chipola women have faced three top ten teams while having a limited roster. Despite their recent struggles, the Lady Indians are still ranked 16th in the country and third in the FCSAA coaches' poll. The Lady Commdores, 12-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play, are tied for fourth in the FCSAA poll.

Chipola defeated Gulf Coast in all five meetings between the two teams last season, including a 55-45 win to claim the 2021 FSCAA/Region VIII Championship last April.

Monday night's contest is a make-up game as the two teams were scheduled to play last Wednesday. The game was postponed due to COVID protocol within the Gulf Coast program.

After dropping their first two conference games to Northwest Florida and Pensacola, the Lady Commodores picked up an important win on Saturday. After trailing the Lady Eagles at halftime, Gulf Coast came back to get the win 72-60, thanks to Ciante Brown's 20 points and Morgan Robinson-Nwagwu's 19. Atlanta native, Robinson-Nwagwu, a sophomore guard transfer from Auburn, leads the team in scoring with 20.6 points per game.

Gulf Coast averages 76.5 points per game and is shooting 39.9 % from the floor this season.

This is the first of three meetings between the two teams. The Lady Indians and Lady Commodores will face one another in Marianna on February 2 and again in Panama City to close out the regular season on February 16.
