The Lady Indians (13-15; 4-3 PC) got a two-out blast from Natalie Kopicova in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat #14 Pensacola (20-5; 6-3) on Wednesday, 4-2.

Trailing 1-0, Chipola was the beneficiary of some help from the Lady Pirates. Two hit batters and an error loaded the bases and brought Freshman Natalie Kopicova to the plate. Kopicova hit an opposite field line drive into the wind for her first grand slam and gave Chipola the 4-1 lead.

Pensacola pushed a run across in the seventh but Zayla McBurrows closed out the game to pick up her fourth win of the season.

McBurrows pitched all seven innings, striking out three and allowing five hits.

Shakara Goodloe was 2-for-3 on the day with a single and a double.

Game two of the doubleheader was postponed due to inclement weather and will be played at a later date.

The Lady Indians will travel to Gulf Coast State College on Friday for a doubleheader starting at 4 PM.
