MARIANNA, Fla. – The final round of the Panhandle Conference schedule starts on Saturday and the two teams at the top of the standings will meet in Niceville at 4 PM. #18 Chipola (22-4; 6-2) will travel to Raider Arena to face #6 Northwest Florida (23-3; 6-2) for the third time this season.

All even through two

With each team having won on the other's home floor, the Indians and Raiders have split the first two games this season. Chipola won the first meeting at Raider Arena in overtime, 76-73. When the two rivals met in Marianna, the Raiders pulled away in the second half to take a 67-56 victory.

Both teams lost on the same day in the second round of conference action. Northwest Florida lost at home to Tallahassee, 96-86, and Chipola fell on the road to Pensacola, 56-54, on Saturday, February 3. This gave each team two losses in conference and has them even at the top of the conference with identical 6-2 records. Pensacola and Tallahassee are also tied in the conference standings at third with 3-5 records. Gulf Coast comes in at fifth with a 2-6 record and have lost their last five games.

GAME NOTES

• Under head coach Donnie Tyndall, the Indians are 10-4 against the Raiders. Chipola is 11-3 in Raider Arena under Coach Tyndall including back-to-back state titles in 2021 and 2022.
• All three of the Raiders' losses this season have come on their home floor.
• The two teams shared the Panhandle Conference title a season ago with Tallahassee Community College. All three teams finished the season with a 9-3 conference record with their only losses coming to one another.
• A season ago, Chipola edged out the Raiders in the regular season, winning two of three games. The Raiders evened the record with their win in the State Tournament. In the four games, the widest margin of victory was ten points.
• Chipola and Northwest Florida have won five of the last six FCSAA/Region VIII Championships.
