Indians Fall Short in Tallahassee

The Indians fell 73-71 in Tallahassee in tonight's conference opener.

Chipola trailed by 10 at the break, but came out strong in the second half and tied the game with 16 minutes to go. From that point on, it was a close game that came down to the wire.

The Indians shot 48% from the field and won the rebounding battle 31-27.

Lat Mayen led the Indians with 22 points and six rebounds. Marial Mading had 16 point and seven rebounds. Cheikh Fay had 12 points and four rebounds.

"I was proud of how well we guarded in the second half against a good Tallahassee team," said Coach Brendan Foley. "Winning on the road in this conference is never easy, especially when you put yourself in a hole like we did, but I was proud of how we fought back even though we came up short.

Chipola is back in action on Wednesday as they host Northwest Florida State at 7:30 p.m. CST. Tickets are $5 and available at the gate. Chipola students and Appreciation Club members get in free with a valid Chipola ID/Appreciation Club pass.
