Chipola beats Pensacola State 70-56 in tonight's game. 

David Pierce led the team in scoring with 15 points. Lat Mayen and Christian Lorng both recorded a double-double. Mayen had 14 points and 15 rebounds. Lorng had 14 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks. Cheikh Faye had eight points. Kris Gardner had seven points and five assist. 

Coach Foley thought the Indians' defensive effort was a key to the win. 

"I was proud of our defensive effort and thought we defended well for 40 minutes," he said.

Chipola also out-rebounded the Pirates, 48-31.

"I'm happy we won the battle on the glass," said Foley. "Lat and Christen combined for 28 (rebounds) and I think that was a big factor in the win."

The Indians limited their turnovers to 14 in tonight's contest.

"For the third-straight game, we kept our turnovers down and if we can keep doing that, good things can happen for us," Foley continued. 

Chipola is on the road at Gulf Coast on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. CST.
