Indians Beat Eagles on Homecoming

Chipola picked up a 80-72 Homecoming win over Tallahasee.

Lat Mayen led the team with 21 points and six rebounds. Lance Erving and Cheikh Faye each had 13 points. Kris Gardner had 10 assists and Christians Lorng had six rebounds.

"I'm really proud of our defensive presence in the first half," said Coach Brendan Foley. "Tallahassee is a good team and I thought we came out and set the tone with our defense and togetherness."

Foley was proud of how his guys continue to grow as the season goes on.

"Kris (Gardner) did an excelled job running the team tonight and had 10 assists. That's what we need out of him," Foley continued. "Lat (Mayen) continued to score the ball and played well again for us."

Tallahassee made several runs to close in on the lead, but Foley thought his team sustained those runs well.

"I thought we never panicked, sustained all their runs, and found a way to finish," he said.

The Indians are back at home on Wednesday, January 29, as they host Pensacola State at 7:30 p.m.
