In the final home game of the season at the Milton H. Johnson Center, Chipola left their fans with a positive outlook despite a disappointing season.

The Indians (10-18, 3-8) hung on to upset Tallahassee Community College (18-11, 4-8) 60-57 on Tuesday night. It was Chipola's first conference home victory and the second straight win (59-51 at Gulf Coast on Feb.11) for the Indians against an opponent with a better record.

Dejuan Marrero scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Indians. Reserve Floyd Preito added 10 points off the bench for the Indians.

Chipola led 34-21 at halftime however a 25-5 run enabled the Eagles to take a 48-46 lead with 7:10 remaining the game. The Indians would regain control from that point on to retake the lead.

The Eagles had two chances to tie the game with a three-pointer and the final shot by Jahvaughn Powell missed its mark.

Chipola forced Tallahassee into 11.8 percent shooting from the 3-point line.

The Indians close out the season looking for the spoiler hat trick, as they head to conference champion Northwest Florida State (25-1, 9-1) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
