Indians Finish Conference Season With Comeback Win

CHIPOLA Indians stole the lead late in the game in a 10-9 victory over Gulf Coast State College on Wednesday. The game was tied at nine with CHIPOLA Indians batting in the top of the ninth when Morgan McCullough's sac fly scored one run for CHIPOLA Indians.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as CHIPOLA Indians collected 13 hits and Gulf Coast State College had 14.

Gulf Coast State College opened up scoring in the first inning, when Aleywine singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

After CHIPOLA Indians scored two runs in the top of the seventh, Gulf Coast State College answered with two of their own. CHIPOLA Indians scored when Jonathan Nieves homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. Gulf Coast State College then answered when Heffron hit a solo homer and Wisely doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

CHIPOLA Indians put up five runs in the eighth inning. CHIPOLA Indians big bats were led by Jared Howell and McCullough, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Howell got the win for CHIPOLA Indians. He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking one. Jack Dellinger threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Howell recorded the last six outs to earn the save for CHIPOLA Indians.

Kilcrease started the game for Gulf Coast State College. He surrendered five runs on seven hits over seven and a third innings, striking out three and walking one. Greenich threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

CHIPOLA Indians launched two home runs on the day. McCullough had a homer in the eighth inning. Nieves put one out in the seventh inning.

CHIPOLA Indians racked up 13 hits on the day. Howell and Max Guzman all managed multiple hits for CHIPOLA IndiansHowell went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead CHIPOLA Indians in hits.

Gulf Coast State College racked up 14 hits. AleywineHeffronDuncanNowak, and Wiselyeach managed multiple hits for Gulf Coast State College. Gulf Coast State College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Aleywine made the most plays with seven.
