MARIANNA, Fla. – Homecoming 2023 features a pair of matchups between two of the best basketball schools in the NJCAA. The men's game is a battle between the two teams that have won the most FCSAA/Region VIII Championships. The women's game features the two winners of the last three FCSAA/Region VIII Championships.

The #3 Raiders have defeated the Lady Indians in the teams' two previous meetings this season. In the first meeting, the Raiders used a smothering defense to defeat the Lady Indians at The Milt, 66-52. Chipola would lead most of the second matchup in Raider Arena but the Raiders used a strong fourth quarter to pull away, 77-72.

The Lady Indians are two games behind Gulf Coast for second place in the conference and need a win to help bolster their postseason resume. After losing to Gulf Coast last Wednesday, the Raiders are just one game in front of the Lady Commodores for the top spot in the conference.

With both the Chipola men and the Northwest Florida men winning on Wednesday night, there is a three-way tie atop the Panhandle Conference on the men's side. The Indians, Raiders, and the Eagles from Tallahassee have identical 6-2 league records and have split their games against one another. With TCC idle on Saturday, the winner of tonight's game will move into sole possession of first place.

With each team having won on their home floor, tonight's 7:30 game at The Milt will determine the season series winner and the tiebreaker for the #1 seed from the conference should both finish as co-champions.

Pensacola will travel to Gulf Coast in the Panhandle's other games on Saturday. The Lady Pirates and the Lady Commodores will tip at 2:00 followed by the men at 4:00.
