Indians defeat State College of Florida, 78-56
The #5 Indians shutdown the Manatees on Saturday in Rome, Georgia
Playing on the campus of Georgia Highlands College, the #5 ranked Chipola men picked up a big FCSAA/Region VIII win over State College of Florida (6-3) on Saturday.
Faizon Fields finished the night with a double-double for the Indians. Fields was 6-for-7 from the field for 12 points and hauled in 12 boards on the night.
Three others had double-digit scoring nights. Shay Davis and Nae'Qwan Tomlin led the Indians with 15 points each. All 15 of Davis' points came via the three, shooting 5-of-9 from behind the arc. Deyton Albury was the fourth Chipola player to hit double figures with 11.
The Indians moved their record to 5-1 and will play the host team, Georgia Highlands College (3-1), on Sunday at noon CST. The Chargers lost their first game on Friday night against State College of Florida, 88-82.
