Dear Loyal Supporter,

2021-2022 was another great year for Chipola Athletics!

  • We were the only college in the Panhandle and one of three in the state to send all of our teams to the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament.  We were also the only college in Florida to have all four teams ranked in the top three in the final statewide poll for each respective sport.
  • Men’s Basketball won their 26th Panhandle Conference Championship and their 17th FCSAA/Region VIII Championship. They also finished in the Final Four of the NJCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
  • Women’s Basketball made their second consecutive appearance at the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament. They also made their 10th appearance at the National Tournament and first back-to back appearance since 2014 & 2015.
  • Baseball won the Panhandle Conference for the 14th time in my tenure. The team finished the regular season as the #2 team in the NJCAA and #1 in the FCSAA. We had five former Indians selected in this year’s Major League Baseball Draft including the 18th overall pick, Cam Collier.
  • Under first-year head coach Kelly Brookins, Softball was unranked in the NJCAA preseason poll but quickly established themselves as one of the top teams in the country after an impressive start to the 2022 season. The first regular season poll included the Lady Indians and they finished the regular season ranked 13th. The team made their 16th consecutive appearance at the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament.

It was also a great year for our Appreciation Club. In 2021-2022, we brought in more membership dues than ever before. We purchased two new digital scoreboards for the Milton H. Johnson Center and our endowment funds provided $46,000 to the College for scholarships. The Appreciation Club also helped purchase a new recruiting car for our women’s basketball coaches along with funding recruiting for all of our coaches. Many of you also give to various projects and events above your membership dues to help our student-athletes. We greatly appreciate what everyone does to contribute to the Championship Legacy at Chipola College.
