Chipola Cross Country Opens Season in Tallahassee

The Chipola College cross country team opened its 2016 season on Friday at the Region 8 Pre-Season 5K in Tallahassee, Florida.

Freshman runner Nicole Morse had a strong showing. Morse ran a 22:09 and finished 3rd place overall on a very tough course. 

Sophomore Lydia Wiedeman, who had not planned to run due to injury, finished with a time of 24:53.

Other finishers: Jayde Smelcer- 24:15, Conner Melvin- 30:15, and Hannah Rees- 30:33. 

The Lady Indians will be back in action on September 24th in Gainesville, FL at the Mountain Dew Invitational.
