Chipola Cross Country Competes at FSU Invitational

The Chipola College Women’s Cross Country Team recently competed at the FSU Invitational.

Chipola picked up the FSU run to replace the Disney Cross Country Challenge which was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew.

All Chipola runners’ times were fairly consistent with two logging personal bests: Hannah Redmond Rees (26:15) and Katie Cox (25:30). Nicole Morse led Chipola with a 21:42. Lydia Wiedeman finished at 22:26. Jayde Smelcer ran a 24:16. Conner Melvin also completed the race but was hampered by injury.

The Chipola team finished just behind Tallahassee CC and Weber College. A total of 16 teams competed in the College Division.

Chipola next travels to the Nov. 4 NJCAA Region VIII meet in Tallahassee to compete with three other community colleges—Tallahassee, South Florida State and Pasco-Hernando.
