Lady Indians cash in 112-49 victory over Central Georgia Tech
The win was Chipola's 15th consecutive on their home opener
MARIANNA, Florida – After opening the 2024-2025 season with three games on the road, the #17 Lady Indians wasted no time letting their fans know they were happy to finally play at home.
Chipola raced out to a 36-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back as they took down Central Georgia Tech 112-49.
CGTC scored the first two points of the game but their lead did not last long. Aniyah Ruddock scored three of her game-leading 21 points to start a barrage that the Lady Titans could not keep pace with.
After ten minutes of play, seven Chipola players had scored, led by Kanija Daniel's and Ruddock's 11 points. The Lady Indians shot 64.7 percent from the floor in the first quarter including 6-of-8 from three-point range.
The Lady Titans fought back in the second quarter but Chipola extended their lead and took a 56-21 lead into the locker room at the half. Ruddock and Daniel continued to mirror one another with 16 points each at the break.
It turned out that Chipola could have gone scoreless in the second half and still won the game. Instead, the Lady Indians matched their first half tally in the final twenty minutes.
All 13 of the Lady Indians available for the game scored in the 112-49 victory led by Ruddock's 21. Daniel had 18 and Mekhila Brown added 12 to join Ruddock in double figures.
Chipola will make up a game that was originally scheduled for last Tuesday at Reid State. The two teams will now play at the Milton H. Johnson Center at 4:30 PM CST on Monday, November 18. Admission will be free for Monday night's game.
