Chipola received an at-large bid to the tournament as the #5 seed after finishing third in the Panhandle Conference. The Lady Indians are looking to repeat as champions and make back-to-back trips to Lubbock, Texas, on March 16-21 for the NJCAA National Tournament.

The Bucs, winners of the Southern Conference, have won seven of their last eight games and are led by Southern Conference Player of the Year, Jayla Murray, and two other All-Conference first teamers.

  • Jayla Murray (#0), a freshman forward from St. Louis, Missouri, has started all 26 games for the Bucs. She leads the team in points per game (14.2) and rebounds per game (7.2). She scored a career-high 26 points twice this season, both against Hillsborough Community College.
  • Macarena Retamales (#10), a second year freshman from Santiago, Chile, and averages 13.4 points per game. Her career-high came earlier this season in a loss at #13 South Georgia Tech on January 20. She has started all 26 games for the Bucs and leads the team in minutes played oer game with 30.9.
  • Sariana Rodriguez (#4) is also a second year freshman and hails from Morovis, Puerto Rico. She averages 10.8 points per game and is the Bucs' biggest threat from three-point range. Rodriguez scored a career-high 19 points against Odessa College on December 11, 2021

The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the semifinals on Friday at 8 PM against the winner of #8 seed, Hillsborough Community College, and #1 seed, Northwest Florida State College.
