Lady Indians fall to Pensacola 56-52

The #3 Lady Indians (14-3, 11-3 PC) came up short, 56-52, on the road at Pensacola State College (3-13, 3-11 PC) on Saturday. 

After a slow first half dealing with foul trouble, the Lady Indians jumped out to a 10-4 run in the third quarter to cut the lead to 33-29. With nine minutes remaining in the the fourth quarter, the Lady Indians took their first lead of the contest, 44-43. With forty seconds remaining, the Pirates took a three point lead that would hold the rest of the way. 

The Lady Indians had four players end the game with four or more personal fouls called, ultimately taking a toll on the opportunities throughout the contest. However, all eight players that checked into the game contributed offensively, showcasing the depth of the Lady Indians roster that clinched a bid to the Region 8 tournament. 

Jordan McLaughlin ended the night with 14 points and season-high 9 rebounds. 

De'Myla Brown had her eleventh consecutive game in double digits, scoring 10 points, all in the third quarter. 

Ifunanya Nwachukwu recorded her sixth game on the season with double digit rebounds (11). 

The Lady Indians host Tallahassee Community College at The Milt. Chipola has won the previous three games between the teams by an average of 35 points.
