Lady Indians travel to Columbus, Georgia for NFCA Leadoff Classic
Lady Indians will play two games on Friday, two on Saturday, and a single game on Sunday.
COLUMBUS, Ga. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association will host the 2024 NFCA NJCAA Leadoff Classic at South Commons Complex in Columbus, Georgia on February 21-23. Chipola will participate in the Classic with 17 other teams from 9 different states.
Two of the three NJCAA National Champions will be participating in the tournament: Indian River State College, 2025 Division One Champion and Patrick & Henry Community College, the 2025 Division Three Champion.
On Friday, Chipola will take on Roane State Community College (TN) at 12:30 PM CST followed by North Dakota State College of Science at 3:00 PM.
NDSCS was Division III's runner-up a season ago after winning the National Championship in 2023. NDSCS is currently ranked #2 in the NJCAA D3 Rankings.
Saturday's opponents will be Illinoic Central College at 10:00 AM and Des Moines Area Community College (IA) at 12:30 PM.
Des Moines Area is currently ranked #9 in the NJCAA D2 Rankings.
NJCAA D2's #7 team, Johnson County Community College (KS), will be Chipola's final opponent of the Classic on Sunday at 9:00 AM CST.
