Busy weekend for Lady Indians Softball
Chipola will play St. John's River at home on Thursday then host the Visit Dothan Invitational on Friday-Saturday at James Oates Park in Dothan, Alabama
MARIANNA, Fla. – After a 3-1 opening weekend, the Lady Indians (3-1) are back in action Thursday through Saturday in Marianna and Dothan, Alabama.
The Lady Indians will play a doubleheader on Thursday beginning at 3 PM against St. John's River State College. The Lady Vikings come into the games with a 5-5 record after dropping a doubleheader at Eastern Florida State on Tuesday.
Beginning Friday, Coach Kelly Brookins and the Lady Indians will host ten teams from Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Illinois at James Oates Park in Dothan, Alabama for the 2025 Chipola Visit Dothan Invitational. Along with Coach Brookins, two other former Chipola Softball players will be leading their team in the tournament.
- Ashley Mayhue Bunn, Head Coach at Georgia Military College, played at Chipola from 2003-2005. She is in her 14th season with the Bulldogs and has won over 400 games in her tenure.
- Krystal Goodman, Head Coach at Heartland Community College, is in her first season with the Hawks. Prior to Heartland, she was an Assistant Coach at Radford University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Krystal played at Chipola from 2016-2018. She was a two-time First Team All-American and the 2018 NJCAA Division I Pitcher of the Year.
