Amari Brown named 2nd Team NFCA All-American
Marianna native, Amari Brown, was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American 2nd Team
LOUISVILLE, KY –Marianna native, Amari Brown, was named to the 2024 National Fastpitch Coaches Association NJCAA Division I All-American Second Team recently.

Brown led Chipola with a .368 batting average and 43 runs batted in during her sophomore season. She was second on the team with nine home runs. In the circle, Brown carried much of the load for the Lady Indians pitching 110.2 innings. Brown (8-11) struck out 66 and finished the year with an ERA of 2.97. When not in the circle for Coach Kelly Brookins, Amari played first base. In 227 chances between the two positions, she made just one error during the 2024 season.
On February 6thin the first game of a doubleheader against Enterprise State, Brown allowed one baserunner, a fourth inning walk, en route to a no hitter in an 8-0 Chipola victory. In game two, she would star at the plate. Brown went 4-4 with two homeruns and knocked in four as the Lady Indians went on to sweep the doubleheader, 11-5. Her efforts in the circle led to being awarded the NJCAA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week for February 13.
"I am very proud of Amari and everything she has accomplished at Chipola," said head coach Kelly Brookins. "She has represented Chipola, herself and her family, as well as the city of Marianna in an exemplary manner on and off the field. I can not wait to see what all she will accomplish at the next level."
Brown will continue her academic and athletic career not too far from home. In August, she will enroll at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee where she will be a member of the Rattlers' softball team.
