PREVIEW: #14 Indians look to keep win streak alive in final non-conference game
Chipola will travel to Americus, Georgia to take on South Georgia Tech on Saturday
AMERICUS, Ga. – The Chipola men's basketball team will face South Georgia Tech (1-12) on the road in their final non-conference game of the regular season at 2 PM CST on Saturday, January 4. The two teams met in Marianna on December 11 with Chipola coming away with a 78-44 win.

LAST TIME OUT
In their first true road contest of the season at Reid State Technical College, the Indians won their fifth game in a row to up their record to 14-3.
In the first half, Chipola shot a blistering 64.5% (20 of 31) from the floor despite connecting on just 2 of 11 from three-point range. When the Indians and Lions squared off five days prior, the two teams went in to halftime knotted up at 31-31. It would be a different story in the rematch as Chipola led 42-19 after the first twenty minutes.
Chipola's shooting from deep would improve in the second half. Antonio Baker, who had nine points in the first half, equaled that total in the second with a trio of triples to finish the game with 18 points. In all, the Indians were 6 of 9 from long range in the second half and cruised to an 84-44 win.
Trent Lincoln was 7-of-8 from the floor to add 17 and Justin Burns joined them in double figures with 14 points. Miles Ndalama made his first appearnace in a Chipola uniform this season and scored four. In all, 11 players scored in the game for Chipola.
Chipola finished the game shooting 53.8% from the floor, their third best output of the season.
RANKINGS
The NJCAA Rankings and the FCSAA Coaches Poll will not be published again until Monday, January 6. In the latest NJCAA Rankings published on December 16, Chipola was 14, right behind Daytona State at 12 and Northwest Florida at 13. The same three teams are 1-2-3 in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll that was also last published on December 16.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT
South Georgia Tech will be playing their fifth consecutive game against a Panhandle Conference team, and sixth in the last seven games. Overall this season, the Jets are 0-6 against the Panhandle Conference.
Along with Chipola's victory earlier this season, the Jets have fallen to Northwest Florida (102-54 & 69-63), Tallahassee State College (69-59 & 70-63), & Gulf Coast (97-47).
The Jets only win this season was to Shelton State on November 8 when they took out the Bucs, 62-57.
Saturday's game with Chipola is also the Jets' final game before starting conference play in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.
