GAMEDAY PREVIEW: Chipola makes 19th appearance at NJCAA Tournamenent

HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The Chipola Indians (29-4) will make their fourth consecutive appearance at the NJCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, when they take on the #11 seed, and hometown team, Hutchinson Community College (28-6) on Tuesday night at 7:15 PM.

The Blue Dragons defeated the #22 seed, USC Salkehatchie, on Monday, 96-82, to advance to the second round. Sophomores Kamyrn Thomas (16.4 ppg) and Kernan Bundy (10.6 ppg) scored 20 in the win over USC Salkehatchie.

Thomas has led the Blue Dragons this season and shoots 48.9 percent from the floor including 44.2 percent from behind the arc.

Underneath, sophomore Valentino Simon averages 8.5 rebounds per game.

Hutchinson lost in the Region VI Championship game to the NJCAA's #1 seed, Barton Community College, 74-57, but received an at-large berth into the NJCAA Tournament.

Chipola will be looking to give the Blue Dragons their fourth loss on their home floor this season.
