NICEVILLE, Fla. – The FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament tips-off in Niceville on Wednesday with the men's bracket. The ladies will get their tournament started on Thursday.
In the latest NJCAA D1 Basketball Top 25 Rankings, there are five teams that will hit the floor on Thursday in Raider Arena. With Florida SouthWestern receiving the most votes not ranked in the Top 25, fans will see six of the nation's top teams.
The only matchup of the day that will feature two Top 25 teams will be at 3 PM when the #12 Chipola Indians (26-4) take on the #23 Pioneers from Indian River State College (25-5). The two teams have already faced one another earlier this season at the FCSAA Shootout in Gainesville. Indian River handed Chipola its first loss of the season back on December 2. The Pioneers tallied the most points ever scored on a Donnie Tyndall coached Chipola team in the 97-83 loss.

- Chipola is 12-3 at Raider Arena in four years under Coach Donnie Tyndall including back-to-back state titles in 2021 & 2022
- Chipola defeated Indian River for the 2021 & 2022 State Championships.
- This season the Indians are 2-0 inside Raider Arena with both wins coming against Northwest Florida.
- Indian River defeated Chipola earlier this season, 97-83, at the FCSAA Shootout in Gainesville.
- Prior to the today's game, Jerald Colonel and Joshua "Greedy" Williams will be recognized
