MARIANNA, Fla. – The Chipola Indians will be looking to make it 28 wins in a row at the Milton H. Johnson Center when they take on the Pensacola State Pirates on Wednesday night at 7:30.

After an overtime victory over #3 Northwest Florida on their home floor, the Chipola Indians (17-1; 1-0 PC) jumped in the NJCAA D1 Rankings from 14^th to 7^th when the poll was released on January 16. Chipola also moved to second in the FCSAA Coaches' Poll behind undefeated Daytona State.

The Pirates, who have only won two conference games in the last two seasons, started the 2023-2024 Panhandle season with an 83-67 loss on their home floor to Gulf Coast.

Sophomores Sami Pissis and Dontae Walker lead the Indians in scoring with only one tenth of a point separating the two. Pissis led the Indians with 16 in Saturday's win against the Raiders and is averaging 12.9 points per game. Walker, who will be playing in his 70^th game on Wednesday night as a Chipola Indian, averages 12.8 points per game.

Pensacola is led in scoring by sophomore Jalen Keago from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Keago, who has started every game this season for Coach Pete Pena, averages 13.6 points per game and is shooting 40.4% from the floor.

GAME NOTES

• Chipola is 10-0 against the Pirates under Coach Donnie Tyndall. The last time the Pirates defeated the Indians was on February 15, 2020 at Pensacola.
• The Pirates have not won at The Milt since February 3, 2018.
• Currently in his fourth season at the helm of the Indians, Coach Donnie Tyndall has won 99 games compared to 17 losses. Coach Tyndall is third on the all-time winningest Chipola coaches behind Milton Johnson (628) and Greg Heiar (164).
