The number one seed Indians (18-4) will face a familiar opponent in the first round of the FCSAA State Tournament tonight in Niceville. Chipola will take on Panhandle Conference rival and number eight seed, Gulf Coast State College, for the fifth time this season.

After losing the first match-up between the two teams in the conference opener for both teams, the Indians defeated the Commodores in their next three meetings. Chipola and Gulf Coast met last on March 17 when the Indians used a suffocating defense to defeat the Commodores 62-40 at the Milton H. Johnson Center.

Sophomore guard, Jammy Pierre-Louis, leads the Commodores in scoring with an average of 15.2 points per game and shooting 41.8 percent from the floor. In the Indians lone loss to the Commodores, Pierre-Louis scored 21 points including a three pointer in the final seconds to give the Commodores a 68-65 win.

The Indians are led by three All-Panhandle Conference First Team members. Carlos Lemus leads the team in scoring with 12.3 points per game and rebounding with 5.7 per game. Jaeden Zackery, the only Indian to start in all 22 games, averages 11.2 points per game and leads the team in assists with 4 per game. Nae'qwan Tomlin has shot 59.3 percent from the floor this season including 46.4 percent from three point-range. He averages 11 points per game.

The Indians and Commodores will tip-off tonight at 6 PM from Raider Arena on the campus of Northwest Florida State College in Niceville.
