Men's Basketball falls to Tallahassee

Tallahassee men's basketball is ranked #2 in the country and on Tuesday night they showed why. The Eagles (6-3; 1-2 PC) were in charge of the game from the start and went on to hand Chipola it's third defeat of the season, 70-49.

Chipola head coach Donnie Tyndall was complimentary of the Eagles in his postgame comments, "Give Tallahassee credit. They were the much better team tonight. (Tallahassee guard) El Ellis dominated the game."

Ellis led all scorers with 26 on the night. Tallahassee shot 44.9 percent from the field while the Indians were 22 of 49 from the floor for 33.3 percent.

After a hot-shooting night from three-point range on Saturday, the Indians struggled to find their touch. On Tuesday night, Chipola was just 2-for-17 from beyond the arc. This would prove to be a huge difference in the game as the Eagles were 11-for-26 with Ellis leading the way making five of his nine attempts from long distance.

Chipola was led in scoring by Carlos Lemus with ten points. The Indians did get contributions from the bench, outscoring the Eagles' bench, 27-14. Kris Gardner added 8 for the Indians in his 22 minutes of play.

Although there was certainly disappointment on the faces of the Chipola men, there is still alot of basketball left to be played including three more meetings with Tallahasssee. For now, the Indians will get ready for another Panhandle Conference matchup on Saturday at 4 PM.

"We have to get better from this film and get ready for a talented Northwest Florida team," Tyndall added. The Raiders (4-3; 1-1 PC) dropped a 76-69 loss to Gulf Coast on Tuesday night and will face Tallahassee on Thursday before traveling to Marianna on Saturday.
