Former Indians in the NCAA Tournament
Chipola has former players and former coaches involved in the 2025 NCAA Tournament
MARIANNA, Fla. - Six former members of Chipola Baseball will be participating in the NCAA Tournament and are hoping to see their baseball season end in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
Players
Jordan Taylor, Stetson University: Taylor, a member of the 2024 Chipola team that reached the FCSAA Championship, and the rest of the Hatters will participate in the Auburn Regional. Stetson won their second consecutive Atlantic Sun Tournament title to earn their berth in the NCAA Tournament. In the A-Sun Tournament, Taylor was 6 for 14 (.429) with a double and a pair of home runs. He knocked in 4 runs in the four games and took home the Co-MVP award. The junior outfielder finished the regular season with a .304 batting average and was named to the All-ASUN Second Team. Taylor and the Hatters, the #3 seed at the Auburn Regional, will open play against the #2 seed, North Carolina State.
Rob Evans, University of Miami: Evans played his freshman season at Chipola in 2023. After spending the 2024 season as a member of the Georgia State University Panthers, he transfered to become a member of the Hurricanes for the 2025 season. The Hurricanes will be the #3 seed in the Hattiesburg Regional and will take on the #2 seed, Alabama. Evans has appeared in 12 games this season and carries an ERA of 5.54. He averaged a strikeout per inning pitched for the Hurricanes.
Dillon Haines, Dallas Baptist University: After winning the Conference USA regular season championship with a 40-16 record, the Patriots fell in the semifinals of the conference tournament. DBU's regular season earned them an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will be the #2 seed in the Baton Rouge Regional. After playing his freshman season at Stetson University, Haines pitched for the Indians in 2023. After 15 appearances as a junior at DBU, he has seen limited action in his senior season. He and the Patriots will face #3 seed Rhode Island in the opening round.

Coaches
Nick Schnabel, Clemson University: Schnabel, an assistant for Chipola head coach Jeff Johnson in 2005, is in his third season at Clemson University. After falling in the ACC Tournament Championship Game to North Carolina, the Tigers (44-16) will be the #11 national seed and the #1 seed at the Clemson Regional. They will open the regional with #4 USC Upstate and also host #2 West Virginia and #3 Kentucky.
John DiLaura, TCU: DiLaura was a Chipola assistant in 2016 and the 2017 NJCAA Championship season. In 2018, he joined the TCU coaching staff as a volunteer assistant. Prior to the 2022 season, he was named assistant coach/recruiting coordinator. TCU (39-18) will be the #2 seed in the Corvallis Regional and will take on #3 USC. #1 Oregon State and #4 St. Mary's will be the other teams in the Regional.
