Austin Brown named NJCAA D1 Pitcher of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Austin Brown was named by the NJCAA on Wednesday as the first Division I Pitcher of the Week for the 2025 season.

The Fallon, Illinois native was 2-0 in two starts to begin the season. He has not allowed a hit or a run in seven innings of work and struck out 11.

Against nationally ranked Pearl River Community College at the PCB College Baseball Classic, Brown struck out six consecutive batters enroute to a 7-1 win. The Indians went on to win the championship game and, for his efforts, Brown was named the Most Valuable Pitcher for the tournament.

Brown is the first Chipola baseball pitcher to win the award since Andrew Grogan took the honors for the week of February 19-25, 2018.
