Coach Jeff Johnson and the 2022 Chipola baseball team will begin the season in the Ed Davis JUCO Kickoff Tournament on January 28 and 29. The Indians will take on College of Central Florida, Eastern Florida State, and Lake Sumter State in the tournament that will be held at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale.

The following weekend, Chipola will travel to play in the Visit Panama City Beach NJCAA Baseball Classic. Four teams that participated in the 2021 NJCAA Division I World Series along with 12 more of the top teams in the country will be in action at the Panama City Beach Sports Complex.

Following the first two weekends on the road, the Indians will play fourteen of their next sixteen games at home. The Indians' home opener will be on Wednesday, February 9 against Chattahoochee Valley Community College from Phenix City, Alabama.

On February 18 & 19, Coach Johnson will welcome Chipola Baseball Alumni back to campus along with two familiar opponents, San Jacinto and Walters State. The Indians defeated San Jacinto in the 2017 National Championship and Walters State in the 2018 National Championship.

The Indians will play at the Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola on March 4. The Indians will face Bishop State Community College from Mobile, Alabama, and Panhandle Conference rival, Pensacola State College.

Panhandle Conferece action will being on March 8 when the Indians travel to face the Eagles of Tallahassee Community College. Conference teams will meet each other six times this season looking to finish in the top two in order to advance to the FCSAA Play-In Games.

The FCSAA State Tournament will have a different format in 2022. Conference champions will host runners-up from other conferences in a two-out-of three format. The four winners of the Play-In games will move on to the FCSAA State Tournament in Lakeland to vie for an opportunity to represent Region VIII in the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado on May 28 - June 4.
