Chipola (49-9) had trouble putting away Wabash Valley on Thursday, but eventually Chipola prevailed 12-7. 

The Indians took the lead for good in the eighth inning. The game was tied at seven with Chipola batting in the bottom of the eighth when Trey Dawson homered to break the tie. 

Andrew Grogan (1-0) earned the win. He went five innings, allowing three runs, three hits, striking out five, and walking zero.

Riley Cabral started the game. He threw four innings, allowing four runs, six hits, and striking out four.

Home runs came when Reynaldo Rivera homered in the third inning, Jose Caballero homered in the seventh inning, Trey Dawson homered in the eighth inning, and Max Guzman homered in the eighth inning. 

Chipola had 17 hits in the game. Jacob Silverstein, Caballero, Guzman, Rivera, Andrew Bechtold, and Brody Wofford each collected multiple hits. Silverstein led Chipola Indians with four hits in five at bats.

Chipola now moves on to the championship round. They will face San Jacinto Friday at 7pm MST. If the Indians win, they have to beat San Jacinto again on Saturday at 7pm MST.
