Indians Swing Their Way to 11-0 Win
Chipola homers 5 times in rout of TCC.
Chipola (35-7, 15-3) defeated Tallahassee 11-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Reynaldo Rivera led the offensive attack by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Rivera drove in runs on a single in the first, a home run in the second, and a home run in the fourth.
Chipola Indians captured the lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Rivera drove in one run when he singled.
Chipola scored four runs in the fourth inning. The Indians scored on a home run by Rivera, a home run by Brody Wofford, and a home run by Trey Dawson.
Bowden Francis (9-2) earned the win. He pitched four innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out three, and walking zero.
Home runs for Chipola Indians came when Rivera homered in the second and fourth innings, Dawson homered in the fourth inning, Wofford homered in the fourth inning, and Max Guzman homered in the second inning.
Chipola collected 13 hits. Rivera, Guzman, Wofford, and Chris Clayton each collected multiple hits.
