Indians Stay Hot, Beat NWF 5-1
Bowden Francis (7-1) threw a complete game for Chipola.
A dominate pitching performance by Bowden Francis helped Chipola Indians (28-4, 9-0) defeat Northwest Florida State 5-1 on Tuesday.
Chipola scored on a double by Max Guzman and a single by Jacob Silverstein in the second inning.
Chipola took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second, Max Guzman doubled off of Eric Orze, driving in one run and Jacob Silverstein singled off of Orze, driving in one run.
Bowden Francis (7-1) earned the win. He threw nine innings, surrendering one run, seven hits, and striking out five.
Chipola had ten hits in the game. Guzman and Andrew Bechtold each collected multiple hits.
Guzman led the Indians with three hits in four at bats.
