Chipola Stays Alive, Beats Santa Fe 6-2

A magnificent effort by Landon Faulkner and Jose Caballero carried the Chipola Indians (42-15) to a 6-2 win over Santa Fe on Thursday at Henley Field.

Caballero hit three home runs for the Indians. Caballero went 3-5 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Caballero homered in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Chipola hit four home runs in the win. Home runs came when Wood Myers homered in the third inning and Caballero homered in the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Landon Faulkner (7-1) recorded the win for the Chipola Indians. He allowed two runs over 7 1/3 innings. Faulkner struck out 10, walked two and gave up 10 hits. 

Chipola will now face Panhandle foe Gulf Coast on Friday, May 20 in another elimination game. First pitch is scheduled for 10am EST. The winner will play Santa Fe on Saturday, May 21 at 10am EST in a winner-take-all contest to go to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, CO.
