Faulkner 1-hits NWF, Indians win 12-2

The Chipola Indians (30-9, 9-1) jumped out to an early lead on Northwest Florida State and captured a 12-2 victory on Sunday at Northwest Florida State.

The game was decided quickly as the Chipola Indians exerted their will early with seven runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Michael Hickman in the first inning and an RBI single by Wood Myers, a hit by pitch, a hit by pitch, a walk by Maurice Cooley, and a two-run single by Reynaldo Rivera during the second inning fueled the Chipola Indians' offense early.

Rivera racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Chipola Indians.

Northwest Florida State had no answer for Landon Faulkner, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Faulkner gave up just one hit, allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his five innings of work.

The Indians matched their two-run fourth inning with two more in the sixth. In the fourth, the Chipola Indians scored on an RBI triple by Cooley, scoring Jose Caballero.

The Indians are back in action tomorrow, April 4 at home vs Pensacola State College. First-pitch is scheduled for 5pm CST.
