Indians drop one to Gulf Coast

The Chipola Indians (23-9, 2-1) held tough until late against Gulf Coast State on Wednesday, but Gulf Coast State scored seven runs late for a 10-4 victory at Chipola College.

The top of the first saw Gulf Coast State take an early lead, 2-0. Gulf Coast State's threat began with a single by McGuffin. Nick Nelson singled, plating Roberson. More runs came home for Gulf Coast State when McGuffin scored on an RBI single by Josh Falk.

After a quick strike from Gulf Coast State, the Chipola Indians responded with one run in the third. The Chipola Indians scored on an RBI double by Michael Hickman.

It didn't take long for the Chipola Indians to respond as they scored one run of their own in the seventh. The Chipola Indians scored on a sacrifice fly by Wood Myers.

Gulf Coast State didn't relinquish the lead after scoring six runs in the eighth inning when it scored on two two-run blasts.

Reynaldo Rivera racked up two RBIs on two hits. He homered in the second inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Riley Cabral was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
