Indians Jump out Early, Win 11-1

The Chipola Indians (13-3) jumped out to an early lead on Columbia State and captured an 11-1 victory on Sunday at Chipola College.

The game was decided quickly as the Chipola Indians exerted their will early with five runs in the first three innings.

A solo home run by Tyler Osik, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Jacob Silverstein, and an RBI triple by Jay Estes in the second inning helped the Chipola Indians put some runs on the board early.

Myles Edwards racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Chipola Indians. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Bowden Francis's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Chipola Indians past Columbia State. Francis allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over six innings.

Corey Herndon was charged with the loss. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

The Chipola Indians answered Columbia State's top inning with four runs of their own in the sixth. The Chipola Indians scored on an RBI single by Jose Caballero and a three-run home run by Edwards.
