Columbia State Rallies in 7th, Wins 7-4

Columbia State took the lead in the seventh inning, and the Chipola Indians (12-3) were unable to muster a comeback, losing 7-4 in seven innings on Saturday at Chipola College.

Franklin Van Gurp ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs. Riley Cabral came in with the bases loaded in the seventh and 0 outs. After two strikeouts, Cabral and the Indians were one strike away from victory when Columbia State hit a grand slam to put them up 7-4.

The top of the third saw Columbia State take an early lead, 1-0. Columbia State's rally started when Garrett Dalton singled. An error then moved Dalton from first to second.

The Chipola Indians matched their two-run fifth inning with two more in the sixth. In the fifth, the Chipola Indians scored on a walk by Wood Myers, scoring Edwards.
