Rivera Leads the Way to Win

An impressive effort by Reynaldo Rivera spurred Chipola to a 13-7 win over Broward College on Friday at Palatka, FL.

Rivera hit two home runs for Indians. Rivera went 6-6 in the game with five RBIs and three runs scored. Rivera homered in the first and sixth innings.

Chipola beat Broward thanks to 15 hits, including seven extra base hits. The Chipola Indians hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for the Chipola Indians came when Michael Hickman homered in the third inning and Rivera homered in the first and sixth innings.

Landon Faulkner recorded the win for the Chipola Indians. He allowed two runs over five innings. Faulkner struck out six, walked two and gave up four hits.

The lead stayed with the Chipola Indians after the first, when they scored three runs on an RBI double by Michael Hickman and a two-run home run by Rivera.

The Chipola Indians brought home two runs in the third inning, and matched that run total in the ninth. In the third, the Chipola Indians scored on a two-run home run by Michael Hickman, bringing home Wood Myers.

Hudson Graham and Robbie Knox pitched in relief for the Indians. 

Chipola plays a double-header tomorrow at St. Johns River State College starting at 10am EST against Miami Dade and Florence-Darlington.
