Rivera Leads Indians in Series Opener

Reynaldo Rivera's walk-off three-run home run off of Sam Gardner boosted the Chipola Indians to a 4-1 win over Walters State at Chipola College on Friday.

Rivera blasted two home runs for the Chipola Indians. Rivera went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Rivera homered in the seventh and ninth innings.

Walters State couldn't get anything going as long as Landon Faulkner was pitching. Walters State managed just one hit off of Faulkner, who allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out seven during his five innings of work.

Bowden Francis got the win in relief for the Chipola Indians. Francis pitched two-thirds of an inning and allowed no runs.

Gardner was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Walters State's lone run of the ballgame came in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Ramon Osuna.
