Coach Jeff Johnson and the Chipola baseball team will welcome back alumni and two rivals this weekend.

The games will start on Friday morning with Chipola taking on the #5 Senators from Walters State Community College (6-0) from Morristown, Tennessee, at 11:00 AM. Following that game, the Indians will face the #3 Gators from San Jacinto College (5-3) at 1:30 PM. At 4:00PM, San Jacinto and Walters State will face one another.

Recent alumni will be especially familiar with both visiting teams. In 2017, the Indians defeated the Senators in the NJCAA National Championship game and, in 2018, Chipola repeated in Grand Junction by defeating the Gators.

The teams will face one another again on Saturday. The Indians will take on the Senators at 10 AM and the Gators at 3 PM. Walters State and San Jacinto will square off in the middle game at 12:30 PM.

Chipola enters the weekend 5-2-1 following a 6-5 loss to Chattahoochee Valley on Wednesday. The Indians will be facing their third and fourth top ten opponents in the last eight days. In the Panama City Beach College Baseball last weekend, the Indians defeated #6 Wabash Valley College and #8 Miami-Dade College.

The Senators come into this weekend undefeated after winning a pair of three-game sweeps on the road at USC Salkehatchie and at home against Lake Land College.

After opening the season 4-0, San Jac stumbled in Panama City last weekend. The Gators lost their first three games before shutting out Chattahoochee Valley, 6-0, on Sunday.
