Bio

Trent Short will be in his first season on Coach Donnie Tyndall's Chipola Men's Basketball staff in 2024-2025.

Short comes to Marianna from Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi, where he helped the Bobcats to a 27-7 record and MACCC, NJCAA Region 23 and Gulf District Championships. Earning the number 18 seed, Jones College made its first appearance in the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas since 2017 before falling in the first round to 15 seed, Panola College.

Prior to Jones, Short was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, the University of Mobile (2022-2023) and a graduate assistant at Central Methodist University (2021-2022).

Short was a three-year starter and two-time team captain at Mobile from 2017-21 where he holds single-season school records in three-point percentage (45.5) and made 3s per game (3.2). He was also a three-time member of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) All-Academic Team during his career with the Rams. He graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology & Exercise Science.
 
Hailing from Pensacola, Short prepped at Pace High School in Pace, Florida.
