Roger Woods, a Jackson, Mississippi native, joined the Chipola coaching staff in September of 2019. 

Before arriving in Marianna, Woods played four seasons of professional basketball in Switzerland, Iceland, Spain, and New Zealand. 

Before his professional career, Roger had a successful college career. 

In his freshman year, Woods started 18 games at Southeastern Louisiana University. He then transferred to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, where he was 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Region. He also led the state and region in scoring with 19.5 points per game. After his sophomore year, Woods finished his college career at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he played under Coach Chris Beard. In his Senior year, Roger played in all 35 games, starting 18 of those. Woods helped lead the team to a 30-5 record, the most wins in school history. He earned Third Team All-Sunbelt honors and averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Woods was also named Sunbelt Tournament MVP. Roger helped his team reach the NCAA tournament, where they upset Purdue to advance to the second round. 

Woods earned his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
