No. 3 state ranked and No.7 nationally ranked Chipola will resume their suspended game with Gulf Coast State today and then play the scheduled contest at 2 p.m on Friday.

Panhandle Conference leading Chipola (34-9, 11-4) was ahead 6-1 in the seventh inning on Wednesday before the lightning delay.

Outfielder Isiah Gilliam hit a double and a home run to drive in half of Chipola's runs.

Pitcher Culver Lamb went six innings for Chipola, allowing seven hits but also striking out seven.

Gulf Coast pitcher Austin Howze gave up a pair of runs in the fourth and four more in the sixth. Bo McGuffin had four hits for the Commodores. Gulf Coast is 28-16 overall and 6-8 in the Panhandle Conference.

Freshman infielder Lazaro Rivera leads Chipola with a .407 batting average and 61 hits.

Chipola hosts Pensacola State on Sunday at 1 p.m., in a makeup of the April 14 rainout.

As of April 16, Chipola is 1 ½ games ahead of Northwest Florida State (29-11, 10-6) in the conference race.

Chipola wraps up their conference schedule with a two-game set vs. Tallahassee CC next Wednesday (home, 5 p.m.) and Friday (away, 4 p.m.).
