The Chipola Lady Indians made it 10 straight wins Tuesday night with a 77-45 rout of the Pensacola State Lady Pirates to stay perfect in Panhandle Conference action.

The win improved the Lady Indians to 21-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while the Lady Pirates fell to 10-12 and remain winless in league play at 0-5.

Khadijah Ellison scored 16 points to lead four Chipola players in double figures, followed by Evelyn Akhator with 15, Brianna Wright with 12, and Diamonisha Sophus 11 points and nine assists.

Rahni Bell also had eight points on 2-of-3 from the three-point line.

Teadra Jones led the Lady Pirates with 14 points.

Pensacola State jumped out to a 6-2 lead to start the game, but Chipola quickly seized control of the action with a 14-0 run to go up double figures on a basket by Sue Key.

The margin was eight with just under minutes left in the half before the Lady Indians picked it up a notch, exploiting Pensacola's lack of interior defense by getting into the paint and finishing with ease.

A driving bucket by Sophus, a basket by Akhator, and a pair of free throws from Akhator made it 30-16, with a layup by Ellison off of a pass from Tiffany Lewis, followed by a baseline jumper by Wright, and a free throw from Akhator, to complete an 11-2 run to close the half.

Chipola then started the second half with an 11-1 spurt, with Sophus breaking down the Pensacola defense and dishing off assists on buckets by Wright and Treyvonna Brooks, and then finding Bell for a corner three to make it 46-19.

Bell added another three and a two-point jumper moments later, and consecutive buckets by Ellison made it a 57-24 Chipola lead.

The Lady Indians shot 50 percent from the field for the game while limiting the Lady Pirates to just 35 percent shooting and forcing 35 turnovers.

Chipola will return to action Saturday with a road contest against Gulf Coast State (18-2, 2-2).
