The Lady Indians, ranked No. 4 in the country and also first in the state, took a pair of road wins in Jacksonville, beating Indian River State 77-40 on Friday and host Florida State College at Jacksonville 76-66 on Saturday.

On Friday, Chipola used a dominant second-half effort to turn the game into a rout, outscoring Indian River State 44-17 after leading by just 10 points at the half.

It was a balanced attack by the Lady Indians, who had all 12 players score in the game led by 12 points from Evelyn Akhator and nine from Rahni Bell and Sue Key.

Akhator also added 13 rebounds, three assists, four blocked shots, and two steals to continue her impressive start to the year.

In Saturday's game, Chipola built a 41-26 halftime lead and held off a late charge by the hosts to hang on for the 10-point victory.

There was more nice balance in this one, with five Lady Indians players reaching double figures led again by Akhator, who had another big night with 16 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and six blocked shots.

Khadejah Ellison matched Akhator with 16 points and added a team-best six steals.

Freshman point guard Diamonisha Sophus had a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists, with Rahni Bell scoring 12 points on 4-of-7 from the three-point line, and Brianna Wright scoring 11 points and grabbing six rebounds.
