Lady Indians Start Season With Two Wins

The top-ranked Lady Indians kicked-off their 2020 season with two wins in Louisiana today. 

In game one, they beat Odessa 6-2. 

Brianna Bailey was the winning pitcher, going five innings with eight strikeouts, one earned run, and one walk. 

Tammie Lijbers was two-for-three at the plate with three RBIs and a three-run homer, Natalie Kopikova was 1-for-4 with one RBI, Haley Sandridge was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a solo home run, Ava Worthy was two-for-four, and Haley Eubanks was two-for-three.

In game two, Chipola beat Midland 13-3. 

Sydni Garrett got the win on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings with five strikeouts, no walks, and no earned runs. 

Worthy was four-for-four with five RBIs in game two. Thais Uyema was two-for-two with one RBI, Sandridge was two-for-two with one RBI, Kopikova was two-for-three with one RBI, Eubanks was one-for-three with two RBIs, and Jaylin Kindles was one-for-three with one RBI. 

The Lady Indians are back in action in Louisiana tomorrow as they will take on Blinn College at 3:30 p.m. and San Jacinto at 6:00 p.m.
