Lady Indians Split in Sanford

The Lady Indians split in day one of their games in Sanford, Florida. 

In game one, they beat Daytona State 13-2 in five innings.

Brianna Bailey pitched four innings. She allowed five hits and had eight strikeouts. Sydni Garrett pitched one inning, allowing no hits with three strikeouts. 

Haley Sandridge was 2-for-4 with two runs. Haley Eubanks was 2-for-3 with three hits and four RBIs. Mikayla Lewin was 1-for-4 with one run and three RBIs. Alexus Johnson was 2-for-3 with one run and two RBIs. Natalie Kopikova was 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Melanie Collins was 1-for-1 with one run. Marissa Baxter was 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. 

In game two, Chipola fell 10-4 to Central Florida. 

Three Lady Indians saw action on the mound. Ashlyn Donner pitched two innings, allowing four hits. Sydni Garrett pitched three innings, allowing five hits with one strikeout. Yana Islamova pitched one inning, allowing two hits. 

At the plate, Alexus Johnson was 1-for-2 with one run. Kayla Hurley was 1-for-4 with one run and two RBIs. Melanie Collins was 1-for-3 with one run. Jaylin Kindles was 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. 

Chipola is back in action in Sanford on Sunday with games at 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
