The No. 6 Chipola Lady Indians made it nine wins in a row Tuesday by sweeping a doubleheader from Southeastern Community College in dominant fashion by scores of 8-0 and 7-0.

Freshman pitchers Jessica Elliott and Luana Imamura each tossed complete game shutouts, combining to allow just five hits and two walks in 12 innings.

Elliott started the first game and went all five innings of the run-rule shortened game, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out nine to pick up her team-best 11th win of the year.

The offensive support came with five runs in the third inning and three in the fourth, as Jenna Reeves provided the big hit in the third with a bases-loaded triple and Jennifer Cottle in the fourth with a three-run home run, her fourth of the season.

Cottle finished with four RBI to lead Chipola, with Reeves driving in three, and Alyssa Hathcoat, Brashante Dareus, and Katie Harrison all adding two hits each.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Imamura was even more dominant in the circle, going seven innings and giving up just one hit with one walk and three strikeouts.

Reeves led the way for the Chipola offense by going 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Katie Harrison was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run, and Dareus was 1-for-3 with an RBI triple.

Rosanne de Vries also was 1-for-3 with an RBI, with Lindsay Wurm adding a hit and scoring a run, and Hathcoat walking twice and scoring twice.

The Lady Indians are now 20-8 on the season and will open Panhandle Conference play Saturday with a home doubleheader against Northwest Florida State at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
