The Chipola Lady Indians made it seven wins in a row Saturday with a doubleheader sweep of State College of Florida, winning by scores of 5-0 and 8-7.

In the first game, the Lady Indians got a dominant pitching performance from Jessica Elliott, who pitched a complete-game one-hitter while walking three and striking out 10 batters.

Most of the offense was provided by Jenna Reeves, who 2-for-4 with four RBI thanks to a three-run home run in the fourth inning and an RBI double in the sixth.

Katie Harrison added an RBI single in the first inning, with Brashante Dareus going 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

The doubleheader finale was a wild affair, with State College of Florida scoring four runs in the top of the seventh to erase a 4-3 deficit, only to see Chipola answer with four runs in its half of the seventh to win in walk-off fashion.

Chipola took the 4-3 lead with a three-run fifth inning featuring an RBI double by Harrison and RBI singles by Dareus and Alyssa Hathcoat.

But the top of the seventh proved disastrous for the Lady Indians, who allowed four runs on five hits and two errors, with two of the runs coming directly off of defensive miscues.

Trailing 7-4 going into their last at-bat, the Lady Indians got started with a double by Harrison, who scored on another two-base hit from Dareus, who scored the second run of the inning on another RBI double from Jennifer Cottle.

A bunt single by Hathcoat and an error on a ground ball by Nalleli Lopez loaded the bases with one out, and Rosanne de Vries provided the winning hit by singling through the left side of the infield to score Reeves to end the game.

Dareus finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs, and two RBI, with Hathcoat going 3-for-4 with an RBI, Harrison 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run, and an RBI, and Reeves 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI.

Luanna Imamura got the win after relieving de Vries and pitching four innings, giving up one earned run on six hits and two strikeouts.
